    Meet Our Visionary Executives

    The executives at Small Animal Imaging offer specialized expertise in the veterinary industry and a proven record of success in the proprietary ownership and management of hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers and outpatient veterinary diagnostic imaging facilities. Many of us are former executives at Fortune 500-listed health care companies. We represent more than 60 years of experience in the successful development of partnerships that have involved hundreds of individual physician investors.

    James M. Towe, Jr.
    Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

    In his extensive experience, Mr. Towe has been responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of hospital-physician joint ventures. Mr. Towe has directed the development of 32 joint ventures and has provided consulting support, sales and marketing for numerous other partnerships. Mr. Towe has seven years of experience in hospital and physician group administration, with primary responsibilities focused on the development and management of new services, including substance abuse, psychiatric treatment, outpatient surgery and diagnostic imaging.

    For 16 years, Mr. Towe served as the President and CEO of MDiagnostics, Inc., a multi-site diagnostic imaging company, and DiagNational, Ltd., a development and management firm. Previously, he worked as a health care consultant for more than 20 years, specializing in joint-venture development. His clients were major sponsor firms, including the Hunter Group and TENET (National Medical Enterprises/ American Medical International). Mr. Towe also served as Vice President of Joint Ventures with American Health Care Management, Inc. and Republic Health Corporation.

    Mr. Towe holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Education from East Carolina University, where after completing his initial graduate training, he served as Senior Administrative and Development Officer (Deputy Director) for off-campus, extension and residence training activities for the Area Health Education Centers program of Eastern Virginia Medical School.

    Brian Campbell
    Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder and President, Finance

    Mr. Campbell has extensive experience in the formation and management of joint venture partnerships with physicians, and has established a strong record in developing and operating successful medical facilities throughout the nation. Most recently, Mr. Campbell developed and sold two start-up companies (Alliance Surgery, Inc. and SURGICOE). For both companies, Mr. Campbell acquired and developed multiple facilities in joint venture partnerships with doctors and hospitals. The sale of both companies provided investors with strong returns on their investments.

    For more than 26 years, Mr. Campbell has served in various operations, finance and development capacities with for-profit and non-profit organizations, including Affiliated Medical Enterprises, Republic Health, Baylor Health Care System, Baxter/Caremark International, Affiliated Medical Enterprises and Value Health Surgery and Sciences. His management experience at these organizations involved the design, syndication and operation of surgical hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, imaging facilities, medical practices and specialty cancer centers in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Mr. Campbell has also served in senior executive positions with Fortune 500 health care companies, including Da Vita, US Oncology and United Surgical Partners.

    Mr. Campbell has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin. He is a licensed broker dealer.

    Mark Leggett
    Vice-President, Operations

    Mr. Leggett has 25 years of experience in the medical imaging field in both clinical and administrative capacities, and has successfully managed multiple outpatient MRI facilities, from inception to operation. His career in human medicine culminated in his founding Companion MRI in 2006, which brought MRI services to the veterinary community.

    Mr. Leggett brings very strong operational and clinical veterinary imaging experience to Small Animal Imaging of America. For five years, he successfully developed and implemented advanced, cutting-edge veterinary imaging centers. Previously, he directed administration and operations for medical imaging for several leading hospitals and diagnostic imaging facilities for 15 years. He effectively modernized the diagnostic technologies at these facilities, which resulted in annual operational cost savings of more than $600,000. He has designed and managed multiple outpatient MRI facilities (both human and veterinary), in addition to introducing the first outpatient PET/CT facility to upstate New York. In addition to medical imaging, Mr. Leggett's experience encompasses the successful management of many other medical disciplines (Breast Health Center, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Pain Management, Urgent Care Facility, Family Health Center, Occupational Medicine and Ophthalmology), which included overseeing a staff of 135.

    Prior to hospital administration and managing multiple imaging centers, Mr. Leggett worked for nine years as a MRI and CT technologist. He is a New York State-licensed and ARRT-registered radiologic technologist. He attended Kennedy Western University in the Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration program, and has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology.

    Lindsey Campbell
    Director of Marketing

    Prior to becoming its Director of Marketing, Ms. Campbell began her work with Small Animal Imaging as a Marketing Associate, where she developed marketing plans and branding concepts, including the logo design. She also assisted in the development of VetWERC, Small Animal Imaging's online continuing education program for veterinarians.

    Ms. Campbell holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Affairs and Spanish, along with a certificate in Sociology, from the University of Georgia.
